Revamp Your Dining Room For Spring Using Decor You Already Have

Find ideas and inspiration for cheerful Spring dining room home decorating ideas using things you already have!

I’ve found after keeping a home for over 33 years, I have a bit of a rythmn of home decorating that is seasonal. As the seasons change outside, I get an itch for a little change inside my home as well.

When the dark days of Winter are replaced with the sunshine of Spring, I usually do a little Spring cleaning and do some decorating at the same time.

I don’t have the desire to purchase new decor each season and year, so I just use what I already have and rearrange it to give the space a whole new look. Here are some ideas you may want to use, too!

Spring Dining Room Decor Ideas Using Decor You Already Have

1. Choose a feature color and splash it throughout the styling of farmhouse shelves.

I’ve been a fan of the cheery color yellow for a long time, so I’ve collected quite a few yellow decor pieces over the years. A DIY yellow painted wood sign that I made years ago, some yellow faux flowers, and a painting with a yellow row boat added in splashes of cheery color.

Using this trick for styling open shelves, I “zig-zagged” the color on our DIY fixer upper style farmhouse shelves.

2. Make an easy Spring centerpiece for your table

Even if you don’t want to keep a fancy Spring tablescape up every day, it’s always nice to have some pop of color or interest on the table.

This 5 minute centerpiece is so easy, and you just might already have the supplies in your closet!

3. Hang up some new (free printable) art

I have lots of free Spring printable art in the VIP printables library. (If you aren’t a member yet and would like to be, click here.)

But, for the first time ever, I designed a large scale free printable that can be printed as an engineer print for an inexpensive art option. It was designed (strategically!;) to fit into the DIY picture frames we made a few weeks ago.

4. Mix faux and real plants

I sprinkled a generous dose of greenery – both real and faux – in the space. It adds so much life and brightness to the space.
