Inspiration Boards for the One Room Challenge

Knowing where to start is one of the biggest challenges of a room makeover. These Mood Boards will help guide the process of creating a Farmhouse style Townhouse Living & Dining Room.

It’s Week 3 of the One Room Challenge, and today I’m showing up with the Inspiration Boards.

I know. I feel I’m a bit behind, too…

This project has been a slow starter. For those of you who missed parts 1 and 2 of this One Room Challenge, I’ll give you the cliff notes version to catch you up to date.

The Very Beginning:

My husband and I purchased our first very own home almost 2 years ago. It’s a 1250 square foot townhouse in…well, town!

The Before:

I got busy right away trying to make it feel like home to us.

In fact, I started my first One Room Challenge just a week after we moved in!

It involved paint, using furniture we already owned, and investing in Ikea’s Billy Bookcase system.

This is what it looked like then:

It has remained basically the same since then.

The Now:

Recently, we made a decision that made me decide to again tackle some more challenges of this space ~

It’s time to replace our old faithful couch.

But, you know what?

I absolutely could not make a decision as to what kind/ color/ style/ and size to get.

I was stuck.

Completely.

After some time, I met Melissa ~ who I introduced you to last week.

She is a designer from Texas who has listened to my ramblings about my frustrations and ponderings, and hopes and dreams for this room, and just yesterday, she sent me something that made my heart sing:

I cannot tell you how excited I was to see them! It’s like she somehow got into my head and heart and knew EXACTLY the feel I wanted for this space.

I know I’m living in town, but my heart needed a little farmhouse style thrown in…

It will be fun to use these inspiration boards as a guide as we put this space together one part at a time.
