How to Hide a Wall Lamp Cord the Quick & Easy Way

Learn the quick and easy way for how to hide a wall lamp cord with a handy paintable wall lamp cord cover!

I’ve had one little project left to do in our Boho Master Bedroom project. Although it was finished months ago, one thing has been niggling in the back of my mind.

I needed to figure out how to hide a wall lamp cord – and get ours hidden.

The white cords of our wall lamp fixtures stood out on our black bedroom wall like giant sore thumbs!

Turns out, the solution is so quick & easy, and took less than 10 minutes (plus paint dry time) to do.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Pre-primed cord cover – This one is similar from Amazon, and this one can be purchased through Home Depot
  • Wall paint to match your wall color
  • Hack saw to cut the cord cover to the appropriate length.
  • Paint brush (This is my all time-multi-purpose favorite.)

Step 1: Cut the cord covers to match the length that you need it to be.

The white cords of our wall lamps stood out against the dark color of the wall.

Since our headboard covered up most of the cord, we cut ours into 12 inch sections.

Step 2: Using paint to match your wall color, paint the cord covers with 2 coats of paint – allowing to dry in between coats.

If you are in a hurry, you can use a blow dryer to speed up the process of paint dry time.

Step 3: Once the paint has dried fully, slip the white cord into the cord cover and tuck in in completely.

Step 4: Remove the adhesive backing on the cord cover and stick it to the wall – placing it exactly where you’d like it.

I didn’t want the entire sticky part to be removed, so I just tore off about 1 and 1/2 inches on the top and the same on the bottom. It is holding just fine.
