How to Make Easy Chicken Stuffing Casserole
Chicken casserole ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chopped red sweet pepper
- Ā½ cup uncooked long grain white rice
- 1 medium onion, chopped (Ā½ cup)
- 1 8 ounce package herb-seasoned stuffing mix
- 2 cups water
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 4 cups chopped cooked turkey or chicken
- 1 10.75 ounce can cream of chicken soup
- Ā½ cup sour cream
- Ā¼ cup milk
- 1 teaspoons chicken broth
Step by Step Instructions For the Casserole Recipe
Step 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 3 quart baking dish by greasing it or spraying it with cooking spray. Set it aside.
Step 2: In a medium saucepan, bring the 1 cup water to boil. Stir in the pepper, rice, and onion. Reduce heat to low, and cook with the lid on for 10-15 minutes or until rice and vegetables are cooked and tender.
Because temperatures vary on stoves, check before the 10 minutes are up to make sure the rice isn’t cooking dry.
Step 3: While that is simmering, in a large bowl, combine the stuffing mix and 2 cups water. Stir in the eggs, turkey, and half of the soup. Add the turkey mixture to the cooked rice mixture and stir together.
Step 4: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until heated through.
