Believe me, you’re not alone. I can’t tell you how many people I talk to who have beautiful things just waiting to hang on the walls, but they’re too scared to try to get them up.
I’ve Made the Wall Hanging Mistakes – So You Don’t have to!
One of the most freeing things I found with decorating my own homes was that the first homes I lived in were in horrific shape! They were old houses that needed a LOT of love, and frankly, nothing I could do to them was going to make them worse than they already were.
I thought nothing of grabbing a hammer and some nails and just whacking it into the (often strange) wall. I didn’t worry one bit about avoiding wall damage, because the walls were in horrible shape.
Over the years, though, I learned some important lessons on picture placement, finding the right hardware for the weight of what I was hanging, and locating wall studs when needed.
