How did the Style Challenge help me?

When I received my first style challenge shopping list, I studied it like my life depended on it. I saw what were considered “classic” pieces that wouldn’t go out of style from year to year. That gave me confidence as I went shopping for particular items that I was investing in something I could use, wear, and love for a long time.

I also learned creative ways to mix and match outfits so that a few pieces could create completely different looks! Accessories became a fun thing that I started to look for – realizing they could change the feel and style of an outfit.

(I bought that scarf while taking my first style challenge with Alison years ago…and I still wear it every year!)

I shopped very slowly to build up my classic wardrobe staples – using the Style Outfit Formulas guide as my template. Observing how other people on the private Facebook group interpreted classic items (like jeans, for instance) helped me choose items that fit my frame and lifestyle the best.

Most of all, though, it boosted my self confidence in the fashion department. It provided me with valuable tools so that I could choose and wear outfits with confidence.
