Striped and Layered Photo Frame
This week is turning into a parade of wall art! Today’s model is the Striped and Layered Photo Frame.
I really love picture frames that are layered with different matting and textures. I pondered many options, but always got stuck on how to attach the very top layer and still be able to easily change out the picture when I wanted.
This was my quick and easy solution.
I painted the wood piece the method described here, and this time did the top layer in stripes. (Painter’s tape really helps for that.)
I also painted a cheep Ikea wooden frame I had lying around. It was just a quick coat of white, and a wipe on, wipe off of stain.
Once it was all dry, I figured out where the picture would be centered, and nailed a tiny nail right on to the wood.
Then I hung the frame on the nail (using the hanger that’s already provided).
It’s another quick and easy project.

Loving this! What a great ‘parade’ of frame projects 🙂 And super cute kids….
Love this Great idea!
Beautiful! Those colors are so lovely. I also adore layered frames!!
I love these- I was thinking of doing something similar for all the way down my loooooooong hallway. We just installed board and batten and painted the walls above it Colorado gray- I thought a repeated frame just like this would look great. I love how yours turned out!!
