Mother’s Day Gifts (That Keep Giving!)
One of the things that I love most about blogging is meeting new online friends. I met another fellow blogger just recently through a sweet e-mail message.
Shelley asked if I would mind receiving a little gift from her company, dignify.ca.
Of course I hippity hopped right on over to her blog and website to check it out.
I was impressed at the first click. I discovered all kinds of beautiful things that I would love having in my house. I could just picture this happy little Ishara Distressed Basket Bowl filled with lemons sitting on the coffee table…
or this happy little Eva Handpainted Pot sitting on the entryway shelf.
I also discovered some fun jewelry that would add some fun color to my wardrobe ~ like this Polished Tagua Bracelet:
Then, as I continued to read and search, I discovered the background of the business, and was impressed even more.
Each of the products sold at dignify.ca is made by a woman from around the world. The sale of the items helps her to have her own business and income that provides for her and her household.
I was very touched when I read the stories.
A few days later, in the mail came this beautiful package from Shelley.
In it is a square from one of the blankets that is handmade by a woman in Bangladesh.
Each blanket is crafted from 6 layers of vintage saris stitched together by hand. {And each throw takes 2-6 days to make!}
The swatch Shelley sent me is in my favorite color…
and I’m planning on framing it and hanging it on the wall.
Right now (until midnight tonight, May 6) dignify.ca is having a give away contest of one of their beautiful blankets. You can head on over to here to read all the details.
And, if you’re looking for a really special Mother’s Day gift, these are gifts that gives to two moms at the same time!
**Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post other than the beautiful little blanket swatch. However, all opinions are honest and I’d love to someday snuggle up in one of those blankets in the full sized variety!
Great post and what a beautiful inspiring place you have here! I have one of the Kantha throws from http://www.dignify.ca and LOVE it. I look forward to exploring your blog and design adventures!
