Fall Decor for the Living Room
Yesterday I wrote about getting the Living Room cleaned up and ready for some Fall “foofing”. I can’t even begin to think creatively when a space is a big ol’ mess. So, after a few hours of vacuuming, mopping, and dusting (obviously, I had fallen behind in my normal housekeeping duties!) there was a clean slate to work with.
I don’t have any kitschy Fall decor items, so I shopped my house and yard for things that gave the “feeling” of warm and cozy.
Here’s what I discovered:
~soft and cozy throw blankets to snuggle up in on cool evenings.
~yummy smelling vanilla candles and elements of nature (that hunk of wood is from the beach)
~a basket filled with magazines to read by the fire,
~and containers filled with seasonal flowers and nuts.
This time, I decided to stage the bookcases with – wait for it – Books!
It’s a heavier feel than the light and airy summer look, but it somehow seems appropriate for Fall.
Here it is all together…
