Simple Ginger Jar Vase Flower Arrangement

Put together a cheerful Spring centerpiece or home decorating accent with a blue and white ginger jar vase flower arrangment using faux flowers.

The weather tricked me weeks ago. The sun was shining so brightly and the sky so crystal blue, I was sure and certain Spring had arrived…

Arround the same time, I saw a brilliant idea for how to arrange tulips, so I decided right then and there to try my own Easter flower arrangement using a blue and white ginger jar vase and an assortment of faux tulips and flowers I had in my decor stash.

I noticed that in the arrangments I was drawn to, there were two things I loved:

  • A full looking arrangement and
  • tulips that looked like they were “spilling out” of the vase.

If you don’t think you are a flower arranger, don’t worry! Neither am I. But, here’s what I did:

A ginger jar vase flower arrangment on a table that is set for Easter.
  1. Put the tallest faux flowers in the vase first. I bent the long stems a bit so some of them looked like they were spilling over the sides.
  2. Then layer in the tulips. If the stems are short (like mine were), place them in from side to side one at a time in a criss-cross pattern so the stems help hold each other up.
  3. Once the middle of the arrangement is full, add in tulips on the side and bend the stems down so they look like they are spilling over.
  4. Add in extra filler flowers to fill in the empty spots in the arrangement.

I was so excited about my fun, new ginger jar vase arrangement as a table centerpiece, that I decided to go ahead and set the table up as an example for an Easter tablescape mixing Mom’s vintage china set with some cheery linens perfect for Spring.

Before I was able to photograph the table, though, we got a snowstorm…and then rainstorm after rainstorm.

I guess Spring wasn’t arriving as soon as I thought!

But, this whole time we’ve been waiting for the sun to shine again, I’ve had this table set and ready for Spring!;)

Today was finally a sunny day again, so I dug out my camera to share this idea with you.

Although everything on my particular table in the pictures above was purchased previously – or gifted to me long ago, I put together an Amazon shop with similar items shown.

Disclosure: The following are Amazon shopping links provided for your shopping convenience. Please note that I have not ordered any of the exact products that are listed below, but I have looked for items that are best sellers with good reviews – and similar looking to what I showed in the post.

  • Ginger Jar Vase – I love the striking colors on ginger jar vases. This one comes in different sizes so you can choose whatever size is appropriate for the space you want to use it in.
  • Blue & White Dessert Plates – I thought these gorgeous plates would look so amazing layered on simple white plates with a ginger jar centerpiece and yellow faux tulips!
  • I’ve realized that I’m a “collector” of table linens, so I am always on the lookout for things that mix and match well. Blue striped and yellow checked cloth napkins look so good on so many tablesettings.
  • These round placemats come in many different colors. They’ve been purchased by many, many people with good reviews online, and they look like they’d be a versatile table item.
  • Although I couldn’t find a ruffled table runner, this blue linen table runner looks very pretty.

  1. That arrangement is lovely! I’m quite sure mine wouldn’t turn out so well, I keep trying, but I just can’t figure out how to make mine look so beautifully “relaxed”! Are those adorable egg candles a recent purchase? If so, would you share where you got them? Thanks much.
