Exercise Tip #1 – Dance in the Kitchen
It’s no secret that I don’t get along with exercise. It doesn’t like me. I don’t like it. We have an agreement. However, I know I need to exercise for health reasons, so I’ve been trying to adjust my attitude in that department and also figure out what I can do and enjoy to some degree.
My first discovery was while we were recently away on our little holiday. My husband had run to the hardware store down the road and I was back at the trailor ready to start washing the breakfast dishes.
The first key to this little exercise success is the outfit you wear. It must be comfortable and you get extra points if it’s a bit quirky. My favorite outfit for this particular exercise is the housecoat my friend recently gave me. I took a picture of it for your pleasure…
{We laughed ourselves silly over this in the store. It’s so vintage “Grandma-y” and for a teetotaler like me in the alcohol department, the martini glasses just adds to the humor…}
Once you have yourself ensconced in your special “dancin in the kitchen while washing dishes” gear, get out your Ipad and click on the Songza app. (I think you can use this with you computer, too, but I’m not sure on that…)
In the left hand corner, there is an icon that looks like a magnifying glass. Click it and you can search for whatever you’d like, but I typed in “Christian” and then chose “Today’s Christian Hits”.
That morning, the first song that started playing had me dancing away as I scrubbed the dishes. I now whip out Songza and dance in the kitchen on a regular basis. It does wonders for my health and my heart.
Wanna know what the first song I danced to was? Here it is:
I love the music video! Great dancing song. I’m looking forward to the video of you dancing in the kitchen wearing your funky new housecoat. For some reason I see fuzzy slippers and big hair rollers, too. 🙂 Have fun!!!
