I’ve momentarily put down my paint and paintbrushes and hauled out the old sewing machine. Although I don’t sew often, this project turned out to be a really fun one.
I’ve been wanting to make burlap Christmas stockings ever since I saw them for the first time last year.
After a few trials and errors, this is what they ended up like:
The fronts are burlap (obviously!) and the backs and cuffs are cream-coloured cotton. The “girl” ones have tattered fabric flowers {oh, so fun to make!},
and the “boy” ones have pleats and buttons.
Each one is a little different…
…but all of them have a bit of light aqua blue on them…
Now that the sewing machine is all warmed up, I’ll have to get busy on some more things!

These are so pretty! I love the colors and that they are all a little different yet still go together so beautifully.
I have had these pinned since you first posted, I want to make them soon [this will be our first married Christmas together!], can you email me with a little help on the ruffle, please? 🙂 the rest I think I can figure out by taking apart an old stocking but I don't know how to make a ruffle & I love it.
