Big Mac Salad -Healthy Burger Bowl Recipe

As I’ve been on a learning curve researching eating healthier, I’ve discovered the most amazing, tasty, and filling recipes. This is one of them.
Why I love this burger bowl recipe (and you will, too!)
Big mac salad is so quick and easy to put together. If you are cooking for 2, you can prep this whole recipe (for 4 people) and have leftovers for the next day, or just cut the recipe in half.
The special sauce recipe mixes up in minutes with just a few ingredients. I tell you what – it is delicious! In fact, I made extra to spread it on a few other things.;)
If you are trying to eat with whole foods, this will fit the bill for that, too.
Ingredients for Big Mac Salad
(A printable recipe card is provided at the bottom of this post for your convenience.
- 1 pound extra lean ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning, optional (but adds great flavor!)
- 4 cups chopped romainne lettuce – or you can use a bagged salad for convenience like I did.
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes cut in quarters
- 1/2 cup pickles, diced
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 3 teaspoons ketchup
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice
Step by step instructions for Big Mac Salad
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat breaking it up as it cooks. Add the taco seasoning mix and stir to combine.
- Make the special sauce recipe by mixing together the ketchup, mayonnaise, and pickle juice.
- Layer the romainne lettuce in the bottom of a shallow bowl.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and top with a drizzle of special sauce.
- Mix together and enjoy!
What do you serve with a Big Mac Salad?
We find that this big mac in a bowl recipe is very filling on its own. However, it would be delicious with some oven baked sweet potatoes cut into thin strips like fries.
