How to Use Free Printables in Your Home

It seems I often find myself searching for “free printables” for one reason or another. There’s a whole slew of very talented individuals who graciously share their works of art for us to use ~ free of charge! If you’re like me, and like to change things up often in your home, these handy little pieces are an economical way to get a whole new look without breaking the bank!

Here are 6 creative ways you can use them in your home, too:

  1. Make a banner

This banner was created out of individual letters, but I’ve also seen neat chalkboard and pennant banners as well. Just print them off and tie them together. Voila! Instant new decor!

2.Clip it on a window for creative wall art

I spied this idea on Home Stories’ recent house tour, and modified the idea for my own Spring mantel.

3.  Lean it against a wall or backsplash

Snapping a printable on a pretty clipboard and leaning it up against the wall helps pull this  little countertop vignette together.

4.  Add it on as a special touch to a gift

Oh my! There are so many pretty free gift tag printables out there that it’s hard to choose a favorite one! You can find them for all occasions and in a multitude of colors.

5. Spell out a name (or whatever word you want!)

I thought this whole idea was brilliantly clever. Each letter is separate, so you can print off whatever you’d like to say. I also love the idea of mounting them on boards and hanging each one from a hook! (I modified this idea for some bathroom art.)

6.  Snap it in your binder to help stay organized.

I find I haven’t bought a calendar in years! I just choose a free printable calendar each year, print it on cardstock, punch it with a 3 hole punch and pop it in a binder. I especially love it to keep my blogging stuff organized.

Each of the free printables I’ve shown above can be found through the link under the picture. But if you want to see even more, here’s a great round up of 33 more!
