I’m not one to study fashion magazines and runway shows. I do, however, have a few favorite fashion bloggers who do all that groundwork for me! I’ve been reading and watching and discovered there are 3 fashion trends this Fall that I actually really like.
- The Shearling Vest
It seems like a practical, pretty, and cozy choice for a crisp Fall day.
Plaid blankets for wrapping up in at a football game always seem to be perfect for Fall. But this year, you can find plaid in shoes, purses, and of course the ever popular plaid shirt. (My boys are all fans of the plaid flannel jacket…)
- Boot cut jeans
Last year, it seemed the rage was all skinny jean. Although there seems to still be plenty of that, the boot cut style (and flare) is making a comeback.
Although I’d love to be able to afford to rush out and purchase all the fun, new “in” things to add to my wardrobe this Fall, that just isn’t the smartest fiscal choice for me.;) Instead, I’ve been trying to re-imagine the clothes I already own and pair them up differently to look new.
This is the outfit I came up with after discovering the shearling vest trend.
I purchased this Woolrich vest years ago and it managed to survive several closet purges. It’s one of my all-time favorites and it’s super soft lining reminds me of the faux shearling look…
The boot cut jeans were a quick last minute purchase last Spring at Maurices (similar style here). They have a “short” length that works perfectly for me. I’m so thrilled when I don’t need to hem my jeans! (Ya hoo!!)
