These are a Few of my Favourite Things…

I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why “My Favourite Things” posts were showing up all over blog land. I thought that perhaps I’d missed watching the once-a-year airing of The Sound of Music. That made me sad, because I really do love to hear Julie Andrews do her thing…

But, (whew!), it was for a different reason altogether. The Nester has a Link Party on the subject of Favourite Things, and she also shared a really neat party idea. (You can find them both here.)

Even though I’m behind in the game and the linky party is about to close, I thought I’d share a few of my current favourite things. When I look back on this in 10 years, I’ll probably laugh and say, “Oh, yes, I remember those…!”

~Magazines~

Even though so many reading things have gone digital, I still love to sit in my comfy chair and be inspired with a good magazine. Last year, a friend got me a subscription to a magazine, and every time it shows up in the mail, I think of her…and look forward to the first chance I have to crack open its shiny cover.

My personal favourite magazine is this one:

Country Living…Its my style.

And I splurged on this Better Homes and Gardens “Christmas Ideas” magazine this year…

Have you seen it? Some of my all-time favourite bloggers are featured in it…

{I’ve found the library is the best place to load up on a big ol’ stack of these “favorite things”!}

~Foaming Hand Soap~

I think this is the greatest invention ever! And somewhere along the way, I picked up this tip: Once you have a foam pump dispenser, you can refill it by squeezing in about 1/2 inch of liquid soap and adding water to fill it up. Shake it, and its all ready to go! It makes your soap refill last a whole lot longer.

And my favourite scents? Japanese Cherry Blossom and Coconut Lime Verbena from Bath and Body Works. (I just got my year’s supply while their big black Friday sale was on!).

~Cranberry Ginger Ale~

This only shows up on the shelves at Christmas time. It’s probably a good thing, or I may just drink far too much of it. My box full just ran out. Bummer. I’d sure like a glass of it with ice…right now…:)

~Pampered Chef Garlic Press~

I did a stint selling Pampered Chef a few years ago. I love many of their products, but this one is one of the most frequently used in our house. You just put the whole clove of garlic in it (peel and all!) squeeze, and voila! Done…. like dinner!:)

I could perhaps, go on and on, but we’ll just leave it at that for now.

Now, what are some of your favourite things?…
