These charming ornaments are perfect for adding a personal touch to your tree or as a special handmade gift. This is a delightful craft project to enjoy solo or with a friend, daughter, or granddaughter.

Why I think you’ll like this Christmas craft project

Many, many years ago I went into a beautiful gift shop full of gorgeous handmade items. It was right before Christmas, so the place was decorated to the hilt with sparkly lit trees, charming Christmas decor, and ornaments gallore.

The prices were quite high and my budget wasn’t, but I remember “splurging” on something so I could remember the place I had so much fun going to with my friends.

After all these years of sorting and purging, I still have kept the little ornament I bought that day. It was a tiny cream colored felt stocking with pink embroidery blanket stitching around the edges.

When I was perusing through my Instagram feed a while ago, I stumbled onto an artist who creates felt Christmas ornament patterns. I’ve been mesmorized ever since, and decided this would be a fun craft to try!

Here’s why I think you’ll like it, too:

  • The supplies are relatively inexpensive. (You can find felt here and embroidery floss here online. Or, look in your local Dollar Stores and craft stores.)
  • The supplies don’t take up too much room, so you can tuck this craft into your purse or a bag and work on it as you’re sitting in the car or waiting in waiting rooms.
  • The designs can be customized with different colors of felt and thread to make each one unique.
  • Felt Christmas ornaments can be used as decor or gifts! Use them on your own tree or gift them. They would also be so cute tied onto gifts instead of a bow.
