25 {Random} Things

I don’t seem to have one concise theme for today’s post.  There aren’t any fresh, new before and after projects to show.  However, it seems like I’ve been working on a whole bunch of things at once…  So, here’s the latest with what’s up over here in Harbour Breeze land:

1.  I’ve been working hard putting together a little “mini-series” for this blog.  It’s almost ready and I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!  {Stay tuned for an announcement coming soon.}

2.  In preparation for the aforementioned mini-series, I spent a good portion of 2 days putting together a button/ banner in Photoshop.

3.  Photoshop and I are becoming friends, but it’s a long, tedious process.

4.  Among the many tutorials I read, I stumbled onto this very helpful video tutorial on how make the background of an image transparent.

5.  The voice on the video sounds like a 12 year old boy.

6.  He should do a whole series on Photoshop.  I understand how he teaches…

7.  I’ve been admiring other people’s photography…Like this image from A Beach Cottage:

8.  I love how its so white and crisp…yet soft and dreamy, too.

9.  I want to take pictures like that.

10.  In fact, I even e-mailed the genius behind A Beach Cottage and asked if she had any tips for me.

11.  Secretly, I was hoping she used some fancy Photoshop action to achieve that look…

12.  But, nope.  It’s just good photography!

13.  She advised reading my camera manual and upping the “brightness” in my editing.

14.  But, I was already in the mood for a new Photoshop action~

15.  So, I downloaded Velvet Cream from The Coffeeshop Blog.

16.  It’s an amazing resource for free Photoshop actions and textures.

17.  Velvet Cream  turned this picture:

18.  I look forward every week to Thursday.  It’s the day I help my friend with her house.  Last week, we worked in her laundry room.  While working on a wall above her sink counter and washer and dryer, I hopped on and off that counter top at least a dozen times.

19.  I discovered that’s a better work out than any “Buns of Steel” video I’ve ever done!! {And certainly more fun!}

20.  My husband and I just tried to shoot a video tutorial for a craft project.

21.  I’d show it to you, but I’m afraid it would make you seasick!

22.  We’ll be redoing it…

23.  But, I admit, we laughed ourselves silly in the process.

24.  My favorite clip is the “Blooper reel”…

25.  I discovered yesterday that when I named it, I typed “Blopper reel”… How ironic!:)

Happy Tuesday to you all!
