Easiest Ever Recipe of Pancake Syrup
Skip the storebought and make this easy pancake syrup recipe with only three ingredients: sugar, brown sugar, and water. Get ready to drizzle some homemade goodness over your stack of fluffy pancakes, waffles, cornbread, or biscuits!
I grew up with homemade pancake syrup. In fact, I don’t think I had store bought pancake syrup until I was in college!
My mom would quickly whip up this syrup and we’d have it on pancakes, waffles, french toast, biscuits and cornbread. It’s a bit thinner than storebought syrups, but we love it and it’s super quick and easy to make.
Ingredients for Homemade Pancake Syrup
Pancake syrup is super simple to make and just requires these 3 ingredients:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup water
- optional ~ flavourings such as maple or cinnamon
Step by step instructions for pancake syrup with brown and white sugar
- Combine the brown sugar, white sugar, and water in a saucepan.
- Turn the burner on high and stir the ingredients until it comes to a boil.
Boil for a few minutes until the sugars have all dissolved.
- Remove from heat and add about 1 teaspoon flavouring (if desired, we usually don’t).
- Pour into a serving container and enjoy with waffles, pancakes, french toast, cornbread and biscuits.
This syrup is a thinner consistency than store bought syrups. If you like your syrup extra thick, this probably isn’t the kind for you.;)
How to store homemade pancake syrup
Store leftover syrup covered in the refrigerator and heat again when you want to use it. It will last up to 1 month.
