One Outfit, Three Looks

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been taking some online fashion courses.  It’s a hoot!  Choosing what to wear each day isn’t something I like to think about much, but I decided to put a little more effort into it.  The online courses have been the perfect tool for me.

Part of the learning process has happened through watching ladies post their outfits of the day on a closed Facebook group.  As the days go by, I realize fashion and decor have a lot in common!  I’m a bit of a “copier” in the decor department ~ always looking for inspiration pictures and ideas.  That translates directly over into the clothing arena as well.  I’ve been taking note of the things I really like, and am starting to determine what looks best (and feels like “me”) on my particular body type.

Although it felt really really strange at first, I’ve also been taking pictures of my own outfits of the day.  Eventually, I’m going to compile them all onto one sheet and hang them inside my closet door.  Then, when I’m at a loss as to what to wear, I can just glance at the sheet and spare myself all that thinking time!:)

Here’s an inspiration picture of an outfit similar to one in the fashion course:

And here are some of the outfits I’ve worn based on that picture. (All outfits start with the same basic pieces:  Jeans ~ Gap; Striped T ~ Ralph Lauren Sport; Black tank top underneath;  Brown Riding Boots ~ Lifestride; Tassel Necklace ~ Le Chateau)

Now, I’d love to get a little feedback from you!  Can you identify with struggling to figure out what to wear?  Would you like to see some weekly fashion posts over here at Harbour Breeze?  Do you have any fashion questions you’re dying to ask?  If I don’t know the answer, I can always fire it off to my new fashionista friends! 🙂  My comment section seems to have a mind of its own, so I’m hoping it’s working for you.  If not, you can always e-mail me at harbourbreeze@hotmail.ca.

Have a pretty day!

P.S. As I was putting the links into this post, I noticed that the first course I took is still available and is on sale!!  It’s my personal favorite and I highly recommend it. If you’re interested, you can sign up here and immediately get the shopping list and all the outfits.

  1. I love the pop of color the scarf gives–it looks great on you! I’m not good at layering, so I love looking at inspiration pic’s.

  2. I love all of your outfits! I did the style challenge in the spring, fall, and winter too but never have the nerve to post my pictures. I did find it to be very helpful. 🙂 Glad to find your blog!
