Signs of Spring in the Living Room

A few days ago, I was on the phone with my sister-in-law.  She was describing a freak snow storm that was outside her window.  I told her I was looking at blooming daffodils outside mine.

Three hours later, I looked out in astonishment to see huge snowflakes falling on those said daffodils.

Mercy sakes, this weather is weird.

Over the past three days we’ve had frost, rain, hail, snow,

~and~

glorious sunshine.

I basked in it.

It motivated me.

I was suddenly aware of the dust bunnies floating around and got in gear to do something about them.  All that vacuuming and mopping more often than not, leads to a whole room “floof”.  It’s one of my most favorite things in life.

Once the floors were mopped and the furniture back in order, it was time to do something about the walls.

The inspiration started with this:

boat picture

That beautiful boat picture was a recent gift to us.  It is our very first piece of original art, and to say we love it is an understatement, indeed.  {The artist is a friend of ours.  You can see more of her amazing art here.}  It had special meaning to us from the start, but the longer I stare at it, the more I just love it…  I wanted it to have a special place of honor in our home ~ somewhere where we’d see it often.

So, into the living room it went.

The vibrant colors of it adds such life.

Especially that yellow.

Hello, yellow.

hello yellow

It became the accent color I am currently craving.  I proceeded to gather up all the yellow I could find…

It feels like a little Spring party goin’ on…

Even though it still might snow outside!Winking smile
