Silver, White, and Sparkly Christmas Entryway
The inspiration for this year’s Christmas colors started with this:
~ The cute little Cowichan sweater and hat our –now 14 year old – son wore the day he discovered snow for the first time.
It , along with some thrifty treasures, became the basis for the Silver and Sparkly Winter Wonderland entry.
I’ve never decorated with this color scheme before, and found it quite fun to mix together sparkly metallics, green, and white. The plain round mirror seemed a little bare, so I made my first no sew (or glue!) ruffle wreath with things I had in the house. (You won’t believe how awfully ugly the wreath form was!!)
It felt a bit like an early Christmas gift when I opened my decorations box and discovered silvery gray ornaments with snowflakes. I purchased them last year after Christmas and had totally forgotten about them! I nestled them into a white soup tureen with a few faux moss balls and greenery.
Cedar boughs and Christmas balls tucked into a glass apothecary jar add a little more color and sparkle to the table, and a row of old books give a sense of history and texture.
As I gathered greenery to stick into the garden urn (filled with wet dirt ~ it theoretically makes the greenery last a lot longer!), I discovered some delightful branches filled with white berries. I have absolutely no idea what they are. I call them “popcorn trees”, since they look exactly like popcorn!
So there it is. What colors are you adding in your home this winter?

That is so pretty, Rita! So fresh and Christmasy! Love the green and white minus the red. It just seems so chic and sophisticated. 🙂 I’ll be sticking with my pink roses (can’t give those up), but adding clear and silver ornaments and a little greenery.

Beautiful! Absolutely stunning! Pinned it! Angie xo
So pretty! Love the greens mixed in with the whites and sparklies. The hat and sweater are all the cuter because they belonged to your young man. We are using lots of traditional reds and country-ish ornaments on our family room tree and our living room tree is white and silver and sparkly too.
Lovely vignette. The ornaments in the soup tureen are really pretty.
awhhh beautiful! I love the meaningful way you used the sweater, hat and picture to make your decor just perfect! 🙂 You inspire me!
