I’ve momentarily put down my paint and paintbrushes and hauled out the old sewing machine. Although I don’t sew often, this project turned out to be a really fun one.
I’ve been wanting to make burlap Christmas stockings ever since I saw them for the first time last year.
After a few trials and errors, this is what they ended up like:
The fronts are burlap (obviously!) and the backs and cuffs are cream-coloured cotton. The “girl” ones have tattered fabric flowers {oh, so fun to make!},
and the “boy” ones have pleats and buttons.
Each one is a little different…
…but all of them have a bit of light aqua blue on them…
Now that the sewing machine is all warmed up, I’ll have to get busy on some more things!

Wow, these are darling. I'm not sure which I like more the buttons or the roses. Oh, how lovely your house will look for Christmas.

Love all the special details! Thanks for linking up to the burlap party at WhisperWood Cottage!
I have had these pinned since you first posted, I want to make them soon [this will be our first married Christmas together!], can you email me with a little help on the ruffle, please? 🙂 the rest I think I can figure out by taking apart an old stocking but I don't know how to make a ruffle & I love it. Thanks friend – just when you have time 🙂
These are so pretty! I love the colors and that they are all a little different yet still go together so beautifully.
do you have a store where you sell your items? just wondering judging by the tags on the stockings, LOVE your blog i am so glad i stumbled across it, now following!
Another super cute piece you've done. I am really enjoying myself looking around. Your newest follower and look forward to reading more. I also saw you did your first craft fair. I did mine too last month. Hope you did well. I realized at mine it is so important of which venue you choose. Mine had the wrong customers for me.
