2012 in Review
I just love the freshness of a new year:
new ideas.
new possibilities.
new potential.
new anticipations.
But, I also think that before we look ahead to what’s to come, sometimes it’s fun to look back and see what’s already been done.
Here’s a little recap of the year here at Harbour Breeze.
JANUARY always brings with it an itch for me to get organized and more efficient. I started by moving my craft area down to the basement.
It started out pretty dreary and dingy.
Although there is still much to do down there, it is now a much brighter, happier place. {The singing washer and dryer help!}
Basement Craft and Laundry Room
{ I find it slightly ironic that one of my first “want to dos” of 2013 is yet again in the basement!}
FEBRUARY and MARCH were months of big change for this little blog. I made the switch to WordPress (unfortunately, there are never pretty pictures to document that gruelling process!) and opened an Etsy shop.

As I learned the ropes of Etsy, I did my first ever interview series with some of my favorite blogging and creative online business women. I loved reading and learning from their answers to all my burning questions.
In JULY, I spent a little time freshening up our master bedroom. We had already painted the once dark space a fresh, white color.
Adding light accessories with pops of blue accents turned it into a completely different space. And, almost all of it was done by just “shopping” in my own house!
Beach Cottage Bedroom Makeover
Sunny skies were great motivation to go dig in the dirt and do a front patio and door makeover.
By the end of the summer, that little trellis was loaded with sweet peas! {Note to self: Plant them again…}
In NOVEMBER, the sunny summer days were over and the gray, rainy skies prompted a little feature wall makeover in our entryway.
I still can’t get over the difference that can be made with just a small can of paint.
You can find other smaller craft projects from the year on the project gallery. But the two that seem to be the most popular are these:

I’m already plotting and planning projects and ideas for the new year.
In fact, the first project just arrived in the mail today…
I can hardly wait to get started!
