The Shop is Open!

Happy Monday, everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Ours was a little busy {and exciting!} around here.  I mentioned on Friday that I was getting things ready to open a new Etsy shop.

I’ll tell you what…  I was a Nervous Nelly about it!

You see, I’m a researcher.  I like to have everything all figured out before I plunge into something new.  I researched and researched, but finally came to the conclusion that sometimes you just can’t understand it all until you just do it!

So, Saturday morning, I sat down at the computer.  It was Grand Opening Day at my new shop

My husband was cheering me on.  For some reason, I was absolutely terrified to post my first item for sale!

It was this:

After agonizing over how to describe it and sorting out the shipping charges, I finally listed it.

It gave me courage to list a few more items…

Then I headed on to Google search land to look for an Etsy widget for my sidebar.  Do you see it over there?  I found it at Craft Cult and it was one of the easiest things yet to install on my new WordPress site.

As I was playing around with it, I clicked on “Sales” and lo and behold, there was already a little “1” there!

Yep.  I squealed.

Then I ran downstairs and grabbed my husband to come see.  I figured the first sale was worth some celebrating.

To make a long story short…

I squealed a lot on Saturday…

7 signs sold.

I’m so happy I can hardly stand it.

Now I’ve just finished wrapping them all up to ship…

    Excited for you!

  2. Congratulations! So many sales so quickly, that is awesome! It took me about 2 weeks before I made my first sale, but vintage sells slower. I cannot wait to start selling my handmade goodies!

    1. Thanks, Chelsea. What is the name of your Etsy shop? I’d love to check it out. I know the quick sales isn’t the norm… I had quite a few ladies on a waiting list for that sign. That’s why the first day was full of so much action! I’m sure it will slow down now…
