Rolling Pin Jute Holder
Those ladies have done it again! 5 bloggers have gotten together and decided to have a Mission Possible link party each month. I’ve just been over to check out some of the link ups, and decided I want to join the party, too! This month the theme is “It’s a Cinch”…easy ideas and tutorials.
Since the theme is “quick and easy”, I want to share with you one of the quickest new little decor ideas I’ve found recently.
A bare wall in my new craft room needed some accessorizing. This picture in Pottery Barn’s latest catalogue inspired me:
Actually, a lot of things about the picture inspired me, but that rolling pin in the center top was what caught my eye. How clever!
I set out to make my own version. I had an old rolling pin of my Grandma’s that still spins wonderfully. I placed one end of the jute against the rolling pin, and spun it quickly with my other hand. {There were no hands left to take pictures of this step…but I think you get the picture!} I spun the jute until I had a good amount evenly distributed on the rolling pin.
I then tied extra jute on each handle to form loops to hang from, knotting the ends.
Old porcelain electrical conduits were screwed onto the wall for decorative hangers.
A little jute “clothesline” with clothespins hold some of my favorite paint swatch colors {but they could easily hold notes in an entryway, too}.
And ~ bonus! ~ Not only does it look neat, it functions well, too. When I want to actually use some jute, I just pull the string and it unwinds nicely.

How cute is that! I love this idea. And your photos are gorgeous, as always!
Thank you! Now I know what to do with the old rolling pin I have plus the bakers twine I use for some of my cooking!
Okay…..seriously. How cute is this! I love the rolling pin idea! What a great way to make something so utilitarian look adorable!
I am pinning this and thanks for linking up to the party!

I love this. So functional and so pretty! I have a rolling pin that I don’t use and might just need to do this. 🙂
Thanks so much for linking up to our party!
