Wallcoverings

This week is gonna be all about WALLS!!  Are you excited?  I thought it might be fun to check out some unique ideas that may inspire you as you look for ways to love up your own home and make it uniquely YOU!

Wallcoverings, I believe, are useful for

  • (a.) covering up some horridly bad wall situations,
  • (b.) adding a punch of personality to a space, or
  • (c.) both a and b!

Here are some ideas for you to ponder:

1. Wallpaper.  I really love how wallpaper adds instant personality to a space ~ even if it’s small, like this one:

I’ve written previously about my personal love/hate relationship with {removing} wallpaper here.   After living in multiple homes and going through the painful wallpaper removal process in every.single.one,  I definitely think twice before I put it up.  {But, as you’ll soon see, I still do.Smile}

2.  Beadboard.  Oh, goodness.  I love the look of this stuff.  It’s right up my country farmhouse, beach cottage, shabby chic alley.

I used it in my kitchen

and a feature wall.

But, wait!  Mine isn’t the real stuff.  It’s WALLPAPER{!}…and I love it.  (You can laugh at point #1 now.).  {I also used it as an affordable solution to cover an absolutely hideous and awful wall in my basement.}

3.  Plank (or pallet-board)-clad Walls ~  I noticed this idea popping up last year.  It’s a creative way to add architectural detail and add a sense of “history” to  a space.

Have you used any of these wall treatment ideas in your home?  If so, I’d love to hear (and see!) about them.  Just drop me a line (with a link to your specific wall treatment post) in the comment box below, and I’d love to pop over to your place for a little visit.  {And, I’m sure other readers will, too!Smile}

Have a wonderful day~

  1. I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this
    post was great. I don’t know who you are but definitely you’re going to a famous blogger
    if you aren’t already 😉 Cheers!
