Quick & Easy Caramel Apple Crisp Recipe with Pie Filling and Oatmeal

Apple desserts are super popular this time of year and a good crisp recipe is one of my favorite recipes. So, I decided to mix a few ideas together for a super easy caramel apple crisp with pie filling and brown sugar oatmeal topping.

Rather than peeling and slicing fresh apples, this recipe combines the quick convenience of apple pie filling, along with a variation of my Mom’s famous crisp topping. Add in some caramel ice cream topping with cinnamon, and you have a great recipe in less time!

One of my least favorite parts about apple dessert recipes is peeling and slicing apples. But, this yummy crisp recipe uses the convenience of canned apple pie filling instead. No peeling or slicing required!;)
  • 2 cans apple pie filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (like ice cream topping) **Note, if you would like a less sweet dessert, cut back or eliminate the caramel topping.
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup old fashioned or large flake oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional

Step by Step instructions

This dessert recipe is assembled in 2 parts – the apple mixture and the crisp topping. To begin, you can mix up the filling right in the bottom of the 9 x 13 pan you’re going to bake it in!

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Variations of this fruit crisp recipe

You can use this idea of combining pie filling with crisp topping with any fruit pie filling. I think cherry would be amazing, too!

Another great recipe that uses pie filling is the super quick cherry dump cake – but you can use any pie filling you’d like!
