Darling Decatur Shops

Today’s travels in Georgia are taking us window shopping in some darling Decatur, Georgia shops.

As I opened the door to the first shop, I literally gasped. Some of you may laugh at that statement. Others may know exactly what I’m talking about! You may identify the excitement that comes when you lay your eyes on something beautiful, unique, and inspiring.

Each of these shops did that for me. They are located in unique, old, historical buildings. Think brick walls and tall, tall ceilings ~ sort of an “industrial” vibe.

I loved the creative displays with beautiful textures and colors, and figured some of these ideas could be translated into home decor, too. I’ve included links to all the shops, so if you want further details, head on over to their sites.

I loved that a bicycle greeted you when you opened the front door…and those fun aprons made me want to cook up something delicious!

The walls still had the faded writing of stores from way back…

Oh, pennant banners. You make everything look like a party!

Look at how the pretty colors and patterns on these dishes  pair so nicely with the old industrial cart…

I loved how they put pennant banners in the window openings and in various parts of the store.

These things were so cool. Coasters, trivets, salt containers, vases, and cheese platters made out of cement!!

I just tried “throwing” pottery for the first time…I’ll never look at  a beautiful pottery bowl the same way again.:)

And I can’t end this post without introducing you to my new friends in Decatur. These ladies worked at Squash Blossom and were my BFFs while I was venturing through a new city. I think I stopped in 3 times one day to ask questions. They knew where the best restaurants and coffee shops were and gave great tips on travelling through the Atlanta area.  Thanks for your kindness & tips, ladies!:)

Now it’s your turn: What cute shops have you discovered lately? Or, do you own a shop of your own? Do tell, and I’d love to take a “virtual” shopping trip to visit!

(P.S. I wasn’t compensated in any way for promoting these 3 shops. I just loved them, and thought you might, too!)
