A Special Project
A few months ago I painted a sign.
I called it “Margaret’s Verse”. {You can read the back story here.}
I took it to a fundraiser sale for the camp we work at, and it went to a special home.
It was one of my favourite projects ever. I sat out in the beautiful Fall sunshine and painted ~ for hours (and hours!).
The “Margaret” that this sign was named after has recently gone to her Heavenly home. A beautiful memorial service was held in her honour this past Saturday. I just loved hearing story after story of how her life touched others’.
From the first time I first wrote about it, I’ve had many requests for a smaller (“more affordable”) version of this sign.
Some people want it as a memory of Margaret. Others would like it because the verse has special meaning to them,too.
Unfortunately, in the world of hand painting, smaller doesn’t necessarily equal less time.
I’ve wracked my brain trying to figure out how I can accommodate the requests.
I wish I could paint one for everyone who wants one. But, reality is, there just aren’t enough hours in the day…
So, I had an idea the other day. I painted one sized 11 x 17.
{It confirmed once again that I just can’t hand paint every sign…}
So, thanks to the expertise of a local print shop, I’ve had the {above} original painting scanned and made into art prints on beautiful heavy weight watercolor paper.
If you’re interested, they’re available as 8 1/2 x 11 and 8 x 10 prints in my Etsy shop. {Frame and matting not included.}
I think that is a great idea, doing prints…have you thought about vinyl for putting onto the wood?
Thanks so much, I absolutely love the prints! Now to get them framed and hanged. What a wonderful promise in the verse and more special as it reminds us of Aunt Marg. Thanks again.
