Blog Swapping! ~ Meet Jen

I met my new blogger friend Jen through last month’s 31 Days Series.  She e-mailed me and asked if I’d like to do a blog swap with her.  So, I’m over at her blog today, and she’s here at mine.  I just love her creativity with just a bunch of twigs.  You’re gonna love this!…

Hello Harbour Breeze friends!  I’m Jen,the gal behind I Can’t Stop Crafting.  I am pleased as can be to be visiting Rita Joy for the day!  I am a stay at home mom to three wild, wonderful little weasels, a wife to my very best friend, and I just love to soak up my abundant spare time with crafts and creativity.  I started blogging in January of this year, and it’s been a great way for me to share projects and ideas, and it’s been a great encouragement to finish projects and follow through with ideas!  Feel free to pop by my blog any time, I’d love to have you!

With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve been planning out how I’d like to decorate the house, what new things I’d like to add, and how I can do it on a modest budget.  I’ve been spotting these simple twig vases all over Pinterest and thought I would whip one up for the Christmas season.  To really encourage a Christmas flair, I decided to spray paint my vase silver.

Making the twig vase was simple enough, all it took was an empty cocoa tin, a trip to the backyard, a bunch of twigs cut to size and some good ol’ hot glue.  It all came together in less than 15 minutes.

Then I simply sprayed my twiggy creation with some silver spray paint I had leftover from another project.  In hindsight, I should have sprayed the cocoa tin first, but it just took a couple of extra coats to cover all that bright yellow.  Ah well, it all worked out, nothing to get worked up about.

Once my vase was all dry, I arranged some golden leaf sprigs and added a few pine cones, tied a brown ribbon around the vase, and voila!

A simple, quick, affordable accent piece for the middle of a Christmas buffet, on the hall table, or the mantle.

Thank you so much, Rita Joy, for letting me stop in today.  I truly admire your beautiful style!

Be blessed,
