Sentimental Art {Day 16}
Last weekend I showed you some crafts I had made to decorate in the kitchen. This weekend, I’m taking you into the Living Room. It went through a bit of a makeover a few months ago and ended up looking a little more “beach cottage-ish”.
As I was working on decorating the space up, I again wanted to incorporate things that have meaning to us as a family. While going through my closet, I came across my Grandparent’s original marriage license. One of our sons is named after that Grandpa (who went to Heaven before I was born), so this document means a lot to me.
I color photocopied it (so the original ink wouldn’t fade from exposure to the light) and put it into a frame that was sitting on a storage shelf.
It became a part of the art on the wall ~ not just to “fill up the space”…but to bring some family history into the room, as well.
I love your style of decorating!!! My daughter and I love to bring new and old together and also to show a sense of family history in our home. Thanks!
