A Kitchen Tour…

Before I show you the current “progress” (?) of the kitchen, I thought it might be fun to look back a bit at its history.

This is the kitchen soon after we moved in:

This wall had absolutely nothing on it, so I put in a free standing cupboard thingy I had along with our portable dishwasher…

We removed a cupboard to try having the fridge in the corner.  That experiment failed miserably!  It felt like we were running to the end of the gymnasium to get the jug of milk…

And make sure you note the dark stained plywood boxes above some of the cupboards.  They co-ordinated with the panelling…

Over the years we’ve rearranged and rearranged in this kitchen to come up with some sort of functionality that works for us.  This is what it looked like a few days ago:

Last year we found these (brand new) lower cupboards at the local Restore.  I love them!  I am aware that two are missing doors.Smile  We’re working on that.   The built in dishwasher was a gift, and I must say, a whole lot more convenient than the portable ones!  And the countertop???  6 feet of pure bliss!  I love to do my baking prep over there.

And if you could come over for coffee, we would sit here and oooh and ahhh over the beauty of God’s creation…

But right now…This very moment… My kitchen looks like a disaster area…  More on that later!
