Welcome here! If you’re stopping by for the first time, you might like to start here first and learn what Harbour Breeze Home is all about. Then come on back and learn all about me!:)
Of all the places in the world to be, HOME is the favorite one for me.
Raised as a farmer’s daughter on the prairies of Montana, I was transplanted as a newlywed to Canada. 25 years ago, my husband and I arrived to our new home on the rugged West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. All these years later, the sea breeze still blows through my open windows.
3 sons were added to our family~ all of which were born and raised at a year round Christian camp where we lived and worked. This blog was born while living there, too. In fact, it began 5 1/2 years ago as a documentary of our budget friendly home renovations on the last house we lived in there.
Now, we’re entering a whole new season of life. We’ve moved from the camp to a town nearby, and my husband begins a new job at our local church in a few weeks. For the first time ever, I have a “real” part time job at a jewelry store. Our youngest will graduate in only a year… and our little nest will be empty!
Although the years of chasing toddlers and stepping on lego are over, I’m still so excited about making home. I’m looking forward to actively pursuing putting a fresh spin on life ~ in both my home (we’re thinking of buying our very first one!), and my heart.
Living on the shores of the ocean is an interesting experience. You see first hand the effects of the wind ~ on everything. A gentle breeze can feel so refreshing on a hot day. But that same wind can pick up speed and suddenly become a terrifying, tree bending storm that capsizes boats and cuts the power.
Just like the ocean setting, life itself comes with its calm and stormy days. I’ve experienced both.Through it all, I’ve been so grateful that I was introduced to the One who holds all things in His hands as a little girl. I’ve walked and talked with Him for many years, and count it an unfathomable privilege that I can be an apprentice of Jesus.
I’ve experienced firsthand that when everything around me seems to fall apart, He will hold me together.
During this time of change in my life, I’ve heard a gentle nudging of the Spirit to go deeper and to share more about not just redecorating our homes, but our hearts and lives as well.
It is my deepest prayer that this online home will be a place of refreshment, renewal, and rediscovery for those who read it. And that they will go out and courageously take “simple steps to live life beautifully“.
I’d love it if you’d join me on the social media spaces I hang out at, too ~ Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and my very new (and perhaps my favorite…) Instagram. And, if you want to get the latest posts delivered to your e-mail inbox, just enter your e-mail in the on the side.
