Last week, I shared the before pictures of our current Master Bedroom makeover project.
It was a blank slate kind of scenario. We’ve lived with this look for 5 months, and I decided it was time to inject some personality into this space.
As with the start of any project, I first began with searching out inspiration pictures and ideas. Pinterest is the easiest place for me to do this, and I’ve been filling up my “bedrooms” board for quite a while.
When I’m looking for inspiration and ideas, I don’t overthink my pinning process. If I like something about a picture, I pin it. Simple as that.
Then, when I’m ready to get serious about a project, I go back and study the pictures more carefully. As I do, I ask myself these questions:
- What is a common thread to all the rooms I’ve pinned? (Do they have the same color? same theme? same style?)
- What elements (like wood, metal, soft furnishings) are repeated in the pictures?
- Do any of the rooms have similar layouts to the space I’m working on?
- Is there one picture that I like more than the others?
Inspiration pictures are my favorite decor teacher. Here are 10 of my inspirations for beautiful farmhouse modern bedrooms.
[BTW, the whole house tour at Home Bunch is amazing!]
I just love seeing the inspiration of others’ creativity. The mixes of finishes, colors, soft fabrics, lighting, and decor makes each space unique and special.
Do you notice any common themes in the pictures above? The first thing I noticed was that most of the rooms have white walls…
And so began my search for the perfect paint color~
