Pom Pom Garland

I’ve been on a mission.

An “Am I ever going to use this or should I get rid of it?” mission.

Little by little, I’ve been attacking drawers and closets and rooms.  It means making lots of decisions~

Like…what should I do with this pile of yarn bits?

I’d like to say I’d use it in a neat knitting project.

But, alas, I tried learning to knit last year.  It didn’t go so well…

I did however, find a use for yarn bits that is oh, so easy, and oh, so fun!

Make pom poms!!

In the time it takes you to help Gibbs solve a crime on NCIS, you can have a whole pile of cutey patootey pom poms on the coffee table.

Then you can string them together to make a garland.

I found this tutorial that makes the whole process easy peasy.  In a nutshell, you wrap yarn around a FORK and tie it off, snip it, and voila! the quickest, easiest pom-poms ever.

You should try it.

It’s really fun.

{And, BONUS!, you finally make use of all those yarn bits lying around!:)}

  1. Very cute!
    Glad you had a few days of travel and family time! We all need a break especially when we are so busy and things are about to get even busier!
    I was kind of wondering about the glam closet and how that’s going. You kind of left us hanging there,girl!
    I don’t worry too much about your “disappearances”. You have a lot going on in your life, between cooking for the camp, your not always feeling up to par, never mind all the crafts you do and then blog about it. I read a few decorating blogs and it seems like bloggers get blogger burnout. There’s a few out there that can remain consistent, mostly those who also run consulting businesses through them. But you do well, all things considered. Some of them only write once or twice a month. So don’t feel awkward jumping in after a few days. You have to live life to bring something to the table to share with the rest of us!
