Winter Cleaning

For the past three days I’ve been home recuperating from the flu.  I’ve actually felt quite good, but as a precautionary measure, I thought people would appreciate me not spreading the germs around.

My husband and son were away, and it felt awfully strange to not have anyone coming home at the end of the day.

It was quiet.

Oh, so quiet.

The DIY network only holds an appeal for a time, so I eventually threw off my afghan and got busy.

I started doing what I’ve been itching to do for months now.

I cleaned my house.

It was the kind of cleaning where the curtains came down,

curtains down

the sun and fresh air was welcomed in,

throw the door open wide

and the shelves emptied.

clean off the shelves

With each swipe of the cloth my mind started spinning as to how I could put all this back together again, and make it look a bit different.

Before I knew it, out came the sewing machine and the paintbrush…

{Hmm…sick days are kind of fun when you feel good!;)}

I’ll be back tomorrow to show you the “new” old kitchen…

  1. It’s certainly that time of year…for sickies AND for deep cleaning and rearranging! Glad you’re feeling better and got some creativity flowing 🙂 I did the same today…we’re snowed in here, so cabin fever is taking it’s toll…I decided to paint a chalkboard wall, and hubs hung our new industrial pendants in the kitchen 🙂 Can’t wait to see your newly organized space!
