Adding in Some Twinkle ~ {The Fall Living Room}
Here in the corner of our West Coast world, the gray sky has settled in.
It’s that time of year that our wood stove crackles all day long, colorful, brittle leaves find their way on to our entryway floor, and I dig out the happy Christmas music.
It’s also the time of year that I look for ways to add a little more light and sparkle into the house.
I’ve had an idea I’ve wanted to try since my friend Coleen gave me this pretty wallpaper months ago.
The background of it is close to the color of our living room wall, and the leaf pattern has a subtle shiny metallic sheen to it. From the moment I laid eyes on it, I knew I wanted it to be my next bookcase background. I finally got around to doing it the other day.
That little change completely changed the look in the living room. I grabbed all the sparkly and metallic toned things I could find in the nooks and crannies of our house…and added in a few rustic, natural elements for some contrast. I call it “A little bit country…”
And “A Little Bit Rock and Roll”.;)
Then I needed to figure out a way to inject some twinkle lights into the situation. A quick trip outside with the pruners solved my dilemma.
These gray days just need a little twinkle sprinkled in…
Hope you’re having a wonderful day in your little Fall (or Winter?) corner of the world…
